migration issue between version 3.0.4 and version 52.8.0

I am trying to migrate from an old version 3 (2009, W7) to the new version 52.8 on W10 Pro. I have followed the instructions described in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/moving-thunderbird-data-to-a-new-computer without problem. When starting Thunderbird 52.8, I don't see the account settings, the imported emails and only a very small part of the address book. Is there a tool to do a better migration?

There is no "migration tool". You should be able to just update Thunderbird and not lose data.

Did you have a backup of your data? And did thunderbird work when you went back to version 3?
