32 bit portable version 52.5, lightning version 5.4.5, windows 8.1 64 bit pro. Export to CSV works, I tested import with the same file the calendar exported. The message I got when importing said, "no importable items in this file".

Where did you find an option to export a calendar to CSV file?

In the file menu, events and tasks > export It then asks me to highlight the calendar I want to export A file open dialog opens and in the file type option it gives three options, web page, ics, and outlook csv.

The csv generates these fields Subject Start Date Start Time End Date End Time All day event Reminder on/off Reminder Date Reminder Time Categories Description Location Private

OK, haven't noticed that option before.

It has worked fine for me here with mainstream Thunderbird:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/52.5.0 Lightning/5.4.5

Maybe this is a funny with the portable version.

Most users would, I think, use ics. What drew you to CSV?

So the import works in the regular version..

CSV can be batch edited quickly in a spreadsheet program, I generate data out of them automatically and prefer to view the data in calendar view.

Imported and exporting csv data into different programs is easier. [I don't mind cleaning up the errant field here and there.]
