how do I separate the reading list from my bookmarks?

I do not like the new version where it automatically adds my reading list to bookmarks. Is there a 

Way to switch off this feature. It might be kind of cool to have my reading list stored under a tab labeled reading list and my bookmarks under bookmarks, just a thought. I maintain very few bookmarks because I do not like clutter yet my reading list being mixed in with the bookmarks turns everything into a royal mess. Forcing people into this without having an option to keep the old way is a very "Microsoft-ish" approach.
