Send to reading list from Firefox for Desktop?

more options

Hi,

I really like the reading list function in Firefox for android but I would like to be able to send articles to the reading list from my desktop Firefox and have them sync to my devices. I have seen some things on how this can be done but none seem to work for me.

Has the desktop reading list functionality been discontinued? Only "History" and "Bookmarks" come up under my sidebar menu. Also the about:config entry "browser.readinglist.enabled" does not come up when I search for it.

Is there a way of achieving what I am trying to do or not?

Thanks Niels Healey

Is this what you are calling "Reading List"? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/save-web-pages-later-pocket-firefox

Sorry, I have never used it.

First off, no I am not talking about pocket. Secondly, strictly speaking the Reading list is a feature that is actually a part of the Android version of Firefox. That said from my research online it seems to be something that can be accessed from any computer if enabled correctly.

The link to what it is, is here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/save-web-pages-your-reading-list-firefox-android

I found this article about how to do it but it doesn't seem to apply to my Desktop Firefox for some reason. http://www.trishtech.com/2015/05/access-reading-list-in-firefox-for-desktop/

It is as is said designed for use on android but I would like to be able to access those same pages in reader mode from my Desktop Firefox as well. Perhaps an addon is my best bet.
