Have just downloaded Tbird to a new PC. Only view I can choose is a totally useless Vertical View. Unusable. Can I download a previous version? I have no need for pgp security. Will classic view be coming reasonably soon? Can I somehow upload a profile from the old PC? I Will download if possible and if you tell me how. Otherwise it will have to be bye bye Tbird and use Outlook. Hoping you can help me. Thanks, Gordon X@gmail.com

I've organized my email into lots (and lots) of folders and sub-folders. For example I have one folder for tech support and it has subordinate sub-folders for all the tech companies I've corresponded with over the years. Extensive use of filters helps most of the sorting to folders get done automatically on receipt, but occasionally I'll get a message in my inbox I'd like to move to an appropriate sub-folder .... say, a tech support company.

So ... with my inbox index in the main message window, I find and drag the desired message over to the sidebar and because the target sub-folder is (virtually) below the sub-folders listed, I carry the message to the bottom of the list and T-bird scrolls down for me .... but it scrolls so quickly and so far that it ends up going way past the target sub-folder. Having gone too far, the same fast scrolling "feature" makes it tricky to find the desired folder when scrolling back up.

The scrolling feature is useful, but I need to slow it down.

The two scrolling controls that are easily found in settings don't have an impact on this behavior. I looked into the advanced controls (the one micky-mousers like me aren't supposed to fool with) and I see a lot of parameters related to scrolling, but I decided not to go the way of Micky (in "The Sorcerer's Apprentice"). Can any of you Wizards out there help me.

What are the exact differences between Thunderbird and Thunderbird Pro? Pro includes GB of storage. I want to know if this is only the case with Thunderbird, and if all other Thunderbird versions, for example, on the channel Relies Eser, do not include storage. I'm also interested in the topic of encryption, so please provide as much detail as possible.

Where can I find information about this in German?

The arrow is tiny and hard for me to see (as well as the vertical bar for selecting text). In other programs it is quite large. I have the LXQt cursor size set to 60. How can I increase the size for TB? How can I make it invert color so as to have good contrast always?

I've tried all sorts of suggestions but I can't get the background on "messages" display to revert to the white it has always been till today! I don't recall making any computer changes that might have affected the background display on inbox messages and change it from what it has always been--black print on white background. A few times I have tried to make a donation but each time i get a message that the donation can't be made due to some sort of compliance issue. Once you resolve this there may be more donations made. To note this has been the same from the first time i tried but i thought it would resolve itself, it hasn't.

There is a discrepancy between the agreed donation amount and the charge of $1.45 i think. this may be the issue or,, cheers Dorothy

I use Mobirise 4.12.4 for site building. I want to have a function on one page only to... when someone scrolls to the bottom of the page, when they hit the bottom have a email address request pop up.

I am writing to express my frustration regarding the recent UI changes. After the latest update, the standard toolbar icons (Get Messages, Write, Address Book, reply, etc.) completely disappeared for me, leaving behind nothing but a search bar. Even using the "Restore Default Set" option fails to bring the essential navigation buttons back. While I can eventually fix these issues as a power user, these constant, breaking UI changes are a major problem for average users. For instance, my 65-year-old mother relies on a stable interface. Every time a rollout breaks the visual layout or hides basic functions, she is unable to use her email until I step in to fix what the update messed up.

Forcing users to manually rebuild their primary navigation toolbar after an update is not a "feature"—it’s a regression that alienates long-time especially elderly users who need reliability over constant redesigns. Please prioritize UI stability and ensure that "Reset to Default" actually restores a functional set of icons.

If you need further information I'll be glad to hear and hope you can give me an easy fix for this problem.

What I have in mind is to be able to play a special sound when I receive a message from a particular sender in Thunderbird, sort of like a specific ringtone for a caller on a phone. I have someone whose e-mails I need to respond to ASAP, but I also need to work otherwise undisturbed on my computer.

Does such an add-on exist? If not, would someone consider creating one?

A week ago my Thunderbird email-app mysteriously switched to a very thinned-down and sparse email information presentation.

I want to return to the classic Thunderbird display. I'm using the current Mac mini.

Subject: Persistent SMTP block on specific Outlook account (IMAP functional) Problem Description: Systematic failure of outgoing emails via SMTP on Mozilla Thunderbird for the address redacted@outlook.be. Crucial Note: Incoming mail (IMAP) works perfectly with the same credentials, proving that the authentication and the password used are correct. Technical Data & Actions Taken: SMTP Configuration: Server smtp.office365.com, Port 587, STARTTLS (or port 465 SSL/TLS). Authentication: Using a 16-character App Password generated after enabling Two-Step Verification. Symptom: Systematic rejection of the SMTP connection (Command Error 12 or timeout). Other Outlook accounts configured on the same Thunderbird client and the same internet connection (Belgium) are working without any issues. Tests Performed: Complete purge of Thunderbird's password manager, alias verification, and full restart of network equipment. Conclusion: Since the reception service is operational and full access is functional via Webmail/Outlook App, the block is specific to the SMTP protocol for this particular account on the Microsoft server side. Hello! I have a damaged 4,7 GB Sent folder (file). Unfortunately, the antivirus or else software did something, so the folder in Thunderbird is shown but empty. I did try to rebuild and fix in Thunderbird but this did not work. How can I rescue my mails? Hello, sometimes memories pop up that I want to stop repeating. The button for this is “close” or "close all" in German. But the popup menu doesn't disappear. That bothers me a lot. I can't say at the moment whether only the dates from the addresses are affected.

Is there a document somewhere that gives the meanings/explanations of all the choices when selecting settings for a Thunderbird account ? When I go through the settings there are many choices that I do not know what they mean, and finding each separately could take hours ...

Why do I have to do this every time?

Is there a setting I can adjust? Or is this just how it is with Gmail?

I love an update when it makes something better. (Isn't that the point?) In the case of Thunderbird 78.4.0, what were they thinking?

You now have to hit Cc and Bcc on each email you write rather than have those fields show up by default, as has been the setup for years? Why?

For multiple Cc's or Bcc's, you have to separate them by a semicolon rather than have a fresh line for each, which to me is easier to read? What's the point of that change?

Is there no way to fix these (ahem) improvements? Terrible!

Also, in passing, I don't appreciate having auto-update checked by default. That's not how I have ever configured Thunderbird, and settings ought to stay as they were unless there's a reason and the user is notified.
