I have Thunderbird 140 set up in cards view (threaded). Under Row count I can choose 2 rows or 3 rows. But all that choosing 3 rows does is place an empty row below the subject line. I was expecting it to show me the first line of the email content. Can that be configured? Or what else is the third row supposed to display? (other than the star for favorites, which always appears in the lower right corner but hardly needs an entire row by itself)

I still have no answer for this. I can recieve but I cannot sent. From the Spectrum Website I can send AND receive email. Worked fine until the last update. Why does it not find the correct internet? Contacted Spectrum and it looked fine from their end.

• After the update launching thunderbird daily, from anywhere, main `.exe` or shortcut links
• It opens a cmd prompt, I am using Windows 10 build=19041, I also use `windows terminal canary`
• I had no issues before the recent update, is there a way to roll back the version? to the previous commit?

an end to sign in windows that just keep asking for information I do not have would be good and that just keep repeating themselves also I seem to have lost all pop3 functionality without any means of recovering or altering anything. this all started when I found I had 13000 plus emails it was impossible to deleat as they just kept reappering on the next visit to email.

This is the screen I get when I follow the instructions from the first denial screen:

the last time I received an email update on my desktop PC (Win 7 Pro) was 4:08PM (yes, PM) for one account and 4:44AM (yes, AM) for the other account. On my phone, the 4:08PM is the same but the other email account recd an update at 3:17PM.

I have used Thunderbird for many years and have a direct debit set to make a payment each month. Everything on Thunderbird is ok but I cannot write a new email message. The is a little envelope top left that seems to have a padlock on. HELP!

The Local Folders Account has a setting to set the Message Store Type. By default it's set to "File per folder (mbox)". How can I switch to Maildir?

Note that in global Settings, I have already set up the Message Store Type for New accounts to "File per message (maildir)". But I can't create a new local folder account.

Thunderbird n'arrêtait pas de demander le "nouveau mot de passe" et le rejetait constamment. Nous avons d'abord essayer de supprimer, puis ajouter le compte. Cela n'a pas marché. Nous avons désinstallé puis réinstallé Thunderbird. Puis, nous avons tenté d'ajouter le compte (avec protocole IMAP 993 SSL/TSL mot de passe normal et 465 SSL/TSL mot de passe normal). Cela n'a pas marché. Nous avons redémarré l'ordinateur à chaque fois. Que pouvons-nous ou devons-nous faire? Merci d'avance. Cordialement, Hélène RF

Hello, Thunderbird has interrupted the connection to a friend's Orange email account. The email address and password are correct (they allow access to the account online). Thunderbird kept asking for the ‘new password’ and constantly rejected it. We first tried deleting and then adding the account. That didn't work. We uninstalled and then reinstalled Thunderbird. Then we tried adding the account (with IMAP 993 SSL/TSL normal password and 465 SSL/TSL normal password). That didn't work. We restarted the computer each time. What can or should we do? Hello! My husband making a new company online and we just set up the needed emails with domain connected. Thunderbird was installed on two different laptop and all the 5 email got configured on both laptop. We run several test on all to see if it is going all fine sending and receiving on both laptop In one of the laptop when sending emails from thunderbird to gmail with 4 email out of 5 has a problem and at gmail site ends in spam or in one instant does not even deliver. We run a test program but that showed all fine, however emails keep showing up in spam at gmail site. Where is the problem? At the host? or at Thunderbird or at Gmail? What should be done to fix it? Incoming e-mails do not always appear in the inbox when they arrive. They always do appear but there are often delays, sometimes of a few minutes, sometimes of several hours, and sometimes of many hours. At the end of the delay they always do appear, with the time at which they were sent indicated, even though that time is earlier than the time at which they appear in my inbox. I have sometimes sent e-mails to myself, as tests -- and these are also often delayed for five or ten minutes. I am not aware of any actions that I take that precipitates either the start or the end of the delay.

The PCs would not be used at the same time. (think winter/summer) POP3

I like the idea of reducing the places where the underlying data is potentially exposed.

If all files are synced after any local changes, will this work? Anyone see any potential issues?

Hi, I have a problem with Thunderbird tabs. I have some emails open, but after some time these emails disappear and I am left with tabs without title or content, why?

Tag names can be changed via message > tag > manage tags. But how can I change the tag ID ?

Let's say for example, I want to change the tag ID "unreplied" to "needsreply".

steps:

1. in user.js: change user_pref("mailnews.tags.unreplied.tag", "unreplied"); to user_pref("mailnews.tags.needsreply.tag", "needsreply");


2. search&replace all instances of regexp ^X-Mozilla-Keys:[^\r\n]+unreplied in all .eml files


3. Some tags are not stored as "X-Mozilla-Keys" inside the .eml file but elsewhere ( https://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=3123346 ) – I suppose in the .msf files. They are in Mork format. Can I run a search&replace on them or will that break them?

Are these 3 steps enough or is more needed ?

Whenever a new message is received, which should go to the Local Folders\Inbox, instead a previous email from 2 days ago is always shown. I have recreated new emply Inbox and Inbox.msf files, but to no effect. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I'm experiencing issues with threaded view in Thunderbird (version 139.0.2 on Windows). Some threads do not display all messages -only a few emails are shown (e.g. 2 out of 8), and others are missing from the thread view even though they are present on the server. Rightclicking a message and selecting "Open message in new tab" sometimes works (but still doesn't show all messages), and sometimes it doesn't open a new tab at all. the missing messages do exist on the server, and I can find them using Ctrl + Shift + F , but they do not show up in the thread, nor do they appear via Global Search, even though the global index has finished building.

I have tried the following: -Right-click folder > Properties > Repair folder -Deleted and rebuilt global-messages-db.sqlite (global search database) -Reduced IMAP mailbox size from 140GB to 110GB -Waited for reindexing to complete

But the problem persists. It seems that Thunderbird either doesn’t associate all related messages with the same thread, or skips them entirely in display and search.

What can i do to fix it? Thanks in advance

I am using MacOS 10.13, Thunderbird 115.15.16ESR: my Hotmail worked until 15 May 2025 and then it would not download new emails. Screenshots are available if you want me to post them. I got an error message: "authentication failure while connecting to server outlook.office365.com". I updated Thunderbird to the latest for my OS: 115.18.0ESR. Still no new emails. I deleted my email account on Thunderbird and tried to reinstate it. Now I get an error message when trying to set up the account: "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password." I tested my password by logging into my Microsoft account with it on my browser. I can also login to my email using Firefox, but I want my Thunderbird email client to work again.

The configuration I am using is: I use my normal hotmail password in the password field. I also set up a new App Password with Microsoft and tried that without success. With the 115.18 update there is a new field: Your login. I just put my hotmail email address in here. incoming: outlook.office365.com, port 993, SSL/TLS, Oauth2 
outgoing: smtp.office365.com, port 587, STARTTLS, Oauth2 (I have also tried: smtp-mail.outlook.com)

I enabled 2-step authentication with Microsoft in my Microsoft account more than a year ago. Interestingly, I don't get a prompt on my iPhone Microsoft Authentication App when I select Done when trying to set up the hotmail account on Thunderbird.

Please help. I am desperate, and I have wasted a lot of time on this without success. Cheers

when i oppened tbird on windows 10, it showed a page to obly my for a donation. i had made a donation short ago, but eventhough, i just made another one time donation. when i open tbird again, i can not get out of the donation page. what should i do please???????
