Rather suddenly I seem to be getting an odd graphical glitch - when opening new tabs I get graphical corruption like so: http://imgur.com/e5BvHXz

When on Facebook I get glitches on the sidebar like so: http://imgur.com/bTcHEaY http://imgur.com/QHj8zl5 http://imgur.com/UPtS6qw

These glitches happen 99% in these particular scenarios, I'll *occasionally* get some very slight glitching elsewhere but this is very slight and very rare. These glitches only happen with Hardware Acceleration enabled and only in Firefox (tested Chrome and didn't get these issues) Also, Direct2D tests don't reproduce these issues. Everything else is perfectly fine too - video, other programs, 3D Games etc.

This is driving me mad and I cannot find any reference to a similar problem anywhere online.

I've put previews here to make things easier...

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Tested. Add-ons not causing the problem. I already know how to disable hardware acceleration but I'd rather not if I can help it - it's horrible to use without it.

I was hoping for some insight as to what might actually be causing this - it may well be a driver issue.

Did you at least check to see whether hardware acceleration is causing this?

If that is the case then you have no choice other that disabling hardware acceleration if you can't find a graphics display driver version that works.
