I want to use Firefox on my Windows 98 machine. Will I be able to with this operating system?

I resurrected my Win 98 machine and wanted to use FF rather than IE but I concerned if the operating system is compatible before I download it. I plan to upgrade to a free XP O/S down the road (this machine's being used for some very basic stuff and Internet research so I don't need the latest) but until then I want to use it with 98.

Firefox 3.0 versions and later do not work on the Windows 98/ME platform

Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last release that runs on the Windows 98 and Windows ME platform.
