All of a sudden Firefox is even slower than before and has trouble opening quite a few websites

I know Firefox is slow when opening Facebook. It's busy blocking all their crap. But recently it's been super slow and non-connective to many sites I visit often. I've Ookla checked my connectivity and their excellent. Logging into sites I've visited before is now taking a long time some having to be resent. IE: www.clevelandclinic.org, local government sites etc.
