Thunderbird Crashing and slow performance

My email is very slow since I moved it to my new Dell laptop, sending, reading new messages, deleting and moving, NOT old messages. It was also slow on my old tower PC, but not this slow. I might leave Thunderbird if this continues. Not worth my time. Thank you!
