I can't remember my password - when I ask you to send a password change to my alternative email address, nothing happens. I've asked three times now and still no email. Thank you

Hi Avril, is this a password for a Mozilla site/service, or for your email account? We don't have any connection with email service providers.

Hi, as far as I can see Thunderbird has updated and now I have to sign in again in order to access my emails. I can't remember the password so it asked if it could send a new password creation link to my email address. I put a hotmail address in and thought it would send it there but so far no luck. So in short yes, it was for my Mozilla/Thunderbird email address.

Thanks,

There is no such thing as a Thunderbird address. Email providers issue email addresses and administer your email password. Thunderbird is client software and not a provider. Do not confuse this forum with your email account. They have nothing to do with each other.

Obviously the problem starts with USERNAME, you cant use your mailadress as username. Then you ask Mozilla for a username and they promise to send a mail, but they don´t. If you use some other name as username without an @ and ask for a new password they will send you a mail so you can define your password. If you use gmail , the password for Thunderbird is obviously the password you used to start the gmail account.
