Retrieving a Thunderbird password

Trying to install Thunderbird on new PC. It is asking for a password, Have tried all I can recall. How do I retrieve/create new one?

It would be asking for your email password. That is between you and your email provider.

If you have a working copy of Thunderbird with this account installed and you save the password there you can view if by going to:

tools-options-security-passwords-saved passwords

If you do not know your password contact your email provider to get it reset. No one here knows your email password.
