When oepning email opens to a different size each time. How do you set Thunderbird to open to same size each time. Disabled addons, restarted no change
No much to add....every time i open an kind of message,....new email, draft, pulling message from sent folder, etc, it opens to a random size, usually very small. I tried to disable all the add ons and restart Thunderbird, but it made no difference. I understand that TB is supposed to remember the size you configured the prior opening and open following messages to that size unless the user changes the size which then becomes the new normal.

Have you actually set default fonts for composition and reading? in Tools menu (alt+T) > options> Display and Tools menu (alt+T) > options> composition.
Not that font sizes as in pixels and are about 30% smaller than the points used in a word processing package.
To clarify the above problem....the font size stays constant. The problem is the the size of the screen that opens, in other words the full size of the email that displays comes up very small most of the time, but at other times it varies. I need to be able to adjust the size of the screen for incoming emails and have it stay locked in that way until i change it.
Are you using separate message windows? If not, maybe that would help. It should result in the main window staying the same anyway.
yes to above question. here is what happens. i currently have 3 emails in my inbox. when i open each in order, the each open to a different size screen. If i adjust the screen size of what, it has no effect on how the next one opens. i am told that the next message to opened should open to the size of the prior screen. I do not know how to set that up. same is true of replies. each reply opens to some random size.
Ok a couple of experiment I think so we are all on the same page. Open one mail. maximize the screen. Close that mail. Open another. The screen should be maximized. Is it?
Do the same in the write window. What is the result there.
