I sent an email in TB, Win8, 5 copies were sent to my Trash folder, Why????

When I send emails, as well as getting copies sent to my sent folder I also have copies sent to my Trash folder, today I had 5 in my trash folder from just one email sent. I am using Thunderbird 24.5.0 with Windows 8.1

because there is a bug, mostly involving gmail as i understand it.
