Everything has been fine for several years but this morning I now get error: TB could not connect to server mail.twc.com, the connection was refused. Spectrum says everything is good on their end. What do I have to do to "fix" Thunderbird? I can't send or receive any emails from 5 accounts with Spectrum and the emails are there when I log in at WebmailSpectrum.net..

Cannot send or receive email all of sudden in Thunderbird. When I the click the messages icon, nothing happens, and I get "Could not connect to server mail.twc.com; the connection was refused". When trying to send a m,message I get "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.twc.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again." No settings were changed and everything was fine when I put the computer to sleep. This happens on both a Win 7 and 11 machine Email is a Time Warner (now Spectrum) Road Runner account (twc.com). Spent an hour with Spectrum, and they say this is a third party (Thunderbird) issue. A friend has the same setup, and is having the same problems that started at the same time. Win 11 version 150.02 Win 7 115.18.0 (latest available for win 7)

I'm getting "Thunderbird can't connect to the server" message, so I can't download messages. However, a message or two will finally download 1-2 hours later.

Same problem on 2 laptops, both running Windows 11. But I know my emails are coming in as I can view them via Spectrum webmail. So the problem isn't the Spectrum servers.

I've logged out and back into Thunderbird, and have re-booted my laptops. No luck. What to do?

Also, is there a place to report problems directly to Thunderbird?

All of a sudden today I'm getting the message "could not connect to server mail.twc.com; the connection was refused." So, I'm unable to send/receive email. I called Spectrum and they said go to Spectrum.net. Yes, I was able to get my email that way, but that eliminates the ease of using Thunderbird. I've read all the messages about this issue, including changing various settings, but none have helped. Spectrum says nothing has changed on their end and it must be a Thunderbird issue. My current settings are: Incoming: Server Type: POP Mail Server Server Name: mail.twc.com Port: 110 User Name: [my email address] Connection security: None Authentication method: Password, transmitted insecurely

Any other suggestions?

Hello. Impossible to connect to an existing Google account. Neither to the "full" account, nor to the Contact list nor to a Calendar of an existing account. Neither to a "private" account, not to a "workspace".

When trying to connect to a Contact list, after the Oauth window and the authorisation to share data from Google accounts, the app answer "Connexion impossible" (I am a French user).

When trying to connect to Calendars, Google's window asking authorisation to share data comes back after clicking "authorise".

Why am I getting this message when I try and send an email from my Mozilla email client: Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com timed out. Try again.

I am having issues getting thunderbird to connect to my 2 hotmail accounts over the last week or two. According to isitdownrightnow.com, outlook has been down for about 200 days and is this really the case? My wife is not having any issues with her hotmail accounts, but I am. I have tried several different settings and attempts and did seem to have it setup, only for it to fail again and again.

This is getting ridiculous. I am using Windows 10 Pro and I am using Thunderbird 150.0.1 (64-bit). I am using Avast Antivirus and Comodo Firewall, but my gmail and yahoo mails are just fine. If anyone here has any information that I am missing or maybe I am making some kind of mistake in my setup, I would really appreciate any and all help or suggestions. Every so often I get an error message "Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent) due to network or file access errors." I understand these if I am sending multiple large attachments as I am using Imap and the Sent folder is on the server. But I got it today with a simple pdf attachment. Is there anything I can do to alleviate this problem ?

Hello, I'm attempting to add one of my google accounts to the server. After Google prompts me to authorize Thunderbird to gain access to some of my data, when I click Accept, I get a 502 Bad Gateway nginx/1.29.8 Error. I checked my Thunderbird settings and I confirm that I had Accept all cookies toggled on. Also, I added Thunderbird to my laptop's Firewall and added an exception to accept all incoming connections. I tried going through the process with a VPN, but still no luck.

Email is not linking to server and not downloading emails. All coordinates are correct. When I try to connect it tells me that the account exists. Cannot send email because it is not linking to server. More trouble than it is worth.

After automatic updating to Thunderbird 140esr under MacOS 12.7.5 Thunderbird will not connect to provider. Same happens with installation of version 150. Same happens under Mac OS Tahoo. I can't make a new profile because of this. What can I do to solve the problem ?

Using Thunderbird forever, on my PC and also on my Android. On my PC sending messages stopped working "suddenly". (That means I did not change anything in Thunderbird. Windows related settings - who knows.)

I have checked the SMTP server settings again, but it didn't solve the problem. I have changed my password of my e-mail account to anew one, reinstalled Thunderbird and recreated my account, but without anything changing. Receiving works, sending does not. Tried to install Outlook (sorry, just temporarily, I hope :) ) and there everything works just fine.

Maybe some Windows Firewall setting? Didn't find anything that seems to prevent Thunderbird from sending thou. Do you have any idea?

I've used Thunderbird for a few years, worked great. No Thunderbird setup option has been changed for a few years. Last week, it failed, could not receive email. The host says they checked and found nothing wrong there. But now when requesting email, it says Connection To Server was Reset., and repeats that every few minutes (every new try I assume). I Sent email from me to myself, and web email there sees it is received up there, so STMP works, but not POP.

Host support said to remove passwords to reinitialize them. I did, but it does not ask for password and still repeats continual reset (does not mention password, and so no way to reset password now, seemingly does not get that far). They said to remove profile file popstate.dat (file only contains server connection and my email address) and I did, but no change. Still continual Connection to Sever was Reset, repeatedly, every try I reloaded Thunderbird, no help. I tried Thunderbird Troubleshooting, and saw no change but don't know what to do there. Host thinks all is correct there. Server connection is Inmotionhosting Secure303. FWIW, am using Microsoft Windows 11 virus security. Could it be a security certificate problem? It gives no clue.

I see many of same question about Connection Reset here, but no answers. Surely someone knows how to fix POP Connection to Server was Reset?

What does Connection to Server was Reset mean? That is all it says, but every time. Just cannot connect? Any help will be appreciated.

I use the Messaging Company for emails and Mozilla Thunderbird as the email client. For the last week or more, I receive a message "Unable to connect to imap.themessagingco.com.au Please try again later. If the problem persists, you may have exceeded the maximum number of connections.

Under the instruction of The Messaging Company, I have modified the advanced settings for the server. The Maximum number of server connections to the cache is now set to 1 rather than 5. I have also changed I also changed the Thunderbird's IMAP Timeout from 100 to 120

These two changes have reduced the number of error messages but I do still get them.

Can you help resolve this?

All of a sudden my comcast.net email is no longer accessible through Thunderbird,it claims I'm not using the correct password, even though none of the settings have changed. I can still access my email through webmail, using the same password. What's happened? and how can it be corrected thank you
