As soon as I updated to Quantum I can no longer use the mouse over zoom feature on eBay listing photos. The same thing happened months ago with Firefox and then one day - poof - it started working again.

Is there something I can do to fix this? The feature works perfectly fine in Edge but I don't like Edge.

Thank you!

Uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Hi Pkshadow,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I just did every step you outlined and it still doesn't work.

Is there anything else I can try?

Update your Video Card Drivers

Could you give a link or two to a page where you see this problem? That may sound a little lazy, but eBay listings often have radically different features, so I don't want to say "works for me" without seeing exactly what you're seeing.

Did you Update your Video Card Drivers ? Old and or Corrupted drivers cause issues in many areas.

Hi Pkshadow,

I've actually been trying to do that but cannot find them (I am technologically challenged :)

I followed these instructions I found online:

"Select the Start button, type Device Manager, and select it from the list of results.

Expand one of the categories to find the name of your device, then right-click (or tap and hold) it, and select Update Driver. ...

Select Search automatically for updated driver software."

I'm not exactly sure what I should be looking for in the list that appears as nothing in the list has the word "Driver."

Ok, video card driver updated and it still doesn't work.

Hmm, the little image zoom rectangle seems to work normally on my test system (Windows 10, no "blockers" installed).

Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? In Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?

Hi Jscher2000,

I just tried it and sadly, it did not work.
