Google Translator.

The tab for my Google Translator went missing. I spent 4 hours deleting this add-on, re-installing.....Nothing seems to work. I just can't seem to get this icon to show on on my task bar in the upper right with all the other add-ons. I need help. I don't have images or data to share, unless you want to see the screen where it is supposed to be. Thanks for any help.

Can you tell us which GT you are using? I see several options on the add-on page.

By any chance are you testing in a private window? Extensions need to be specifically enabled to run in private windows. You can take a look on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. On the right side, find the "Manage Your Extensions" heading.

Scroll down to your translation extension. Is there a purple mask icon? If not, click the extension title to show the Details panel and scroll down to where you can allow the extension to run in private windows.

Any difference?
