Try resetting your homepage to only have the one homepage that you want.

the-edmeister- Okay, I tried that. The real home page opened, then the Google sign-in page.

Type about:config<Enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the Be Careful button. This is where Firefox finds information it needs to run. At the top of the screen is a search bar. Type browser.newtab.url This tells Firefox what to show when a new tab is opened. If you want, right click and select Modify. You can change the setting to;

about:home (Firefox default home page), about:newtab (shows the sites most visited), about:blank (a blank page),

or you can enter any web page or about: page you want.

The same instructions are used for the new window setting, listed as browser.startup.homepage.

FredMcD- I did as you suggested and changed the setting to about:home. I didn’t see anywhere in your suggestion about clicking on Apply nor did I see anything like that, so I just closed out the tab. After making that change, Firefox loads the nbcnews.com page AND the Google sign-in page.

But, you got me thinking, so I decided to disable all extensions and see what happens. NO Google sign-in page!! I re-enabled each extension one-by-one until I found the offender--Apollo Bookmark Sync. After removing that add-on, the problem was solved.
