The connection was reset whilst the page was loading
For the last 4 days i've been unable to connect to IGN ever since their server went down for about 5 minutes. I keep getting "The connection was reset whilst the page was loading."
I've cleared my recent history, cookies and even rebooted my computer and modem. I don't know what else to do in order to get IGN to work again, I know it isn't down... just no way it would be down 4+ days even if it was currently down as of typing (which it isn't). What else can I do in order to get it working again? This also happens on all browsers, not just Firefox.
Thanks

Hi,
Please try this: In the Run... (Windows key + R) type in (or copy-paste this) ipconfig /flushdns and press OK. Please also see this.
I did ipconfig /flushdns but I still get "The connection was reset whilst the page was loading."
I also read that troubleshooting article before I posted, I already cleared my recent history, cookies etc but still not working.
Can you post the link to the site?
Oh right, I thought I put it in the first post. The site i'm having problems with is IGN
The site is live.
In Firefox Tools (Alt + T) > Options > Advanced > Network > Settings, please try selecting No Proxy, if anything else is selected.
Also, check if you can do a tracert ign.com in a command window (Windows key + R, type cmd and OK). If there are errors the ISP may be blocking the site.
Please also check your current IP address: http://ip-blacklist.e-dns.org/ http://whatismyipaddress.com/blacklist-check (you may have automatically inherited a bad address inadvertently)

I selected no proxy and still didn't work then I did a tracert and got no errors back. My ISP doesn't block sites unless ordered to by the courts, which hasn't happened because stuff like that makes the news, especially with it being one of the biggest gaming, music and movie information sites around.
I also did a blacklist check, all came back clear apart from 2. I have a feeling that being blacklisted isn't it.
tracert should show at least one result that has ign.
You can try to access the site via a web proxy (https://www.yasker.org/services/phpr0xy/index.php). If it's working then perhaps there is a geographical or IP address restriction.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
See:
My Firewall is disabled. So there is no reason to believe it's my Firewall perventing me from accessing IGN.
