When I trash an email, I can no longer view the attachments in the trash file, though the email itself remains until the setting for trash deletion has been reached. Since I have a gmail email address I can still view the attachments via the website for gmail. Does the attachment disappear on Thunderbird because of a setting - or is this a "feature" of Thunderbird?

Each time I open TBird, I get a message at the bottom left of the screen telling me that TBird has deleted X number of messages. I do not want TBird to ever delete any messages. How do I turn this automatic delete function off?

My daughter added email to my phone. Now I can not send any emails on my computer or phone! I still get my emails on Thunderbird but can't send any and have no idea what my password is or where it might be stored on my computer. It isn't saved on my Firefox. I do make annual contributions to Mozilla.Len@sawisch.com

Recently it's a daily occurrence that I must enter the password for my SMTP server. I always check "Use Password Manager to remember this password" but it doesn't help. The next day I'll have to go through this again.

I power on my machine multiple times each day, and I use Thunderbird each time. It doesn't happen each time. It seems to happen only the first time I use Thunderbird each day. This is new behavior. Before it would happen now and then, now it's daily.

I don't have a Primary Password. No need for it.

If you need to see the message I can send it to you, but I'm not attaching it right now because it shows my email address and the smtp destination. Maybe I'm being too careful.

On Saturday morning 27 June 2026 I tried to login my Orcon email account via Thunderbird (which I have been using for a long time). But my login didn't work, I got a message saying "login to POP3.orcon.net.nz with username habitation failed." On 30th June 2026 I reported the problem to Orcon.

Orcon gave me the following settings for Thunderbird. I have done that and even made a new account: Incoming Server Type: IMAP Mail Server: imap.orcon.net.nz Port: 143 SSL: Off Authentication: On (username and password required)

Outgoing SMTP Server: Mail Server: smtp.orcon.net.nz Port: 25 SSL: Off Authentication: Off

Since then I have spent many hours and going around in circles with Orcon's Technical Support to resolve this, but no luck. They blame Thunderbird. I used Thunderbird Troubleshoot Mode. The message that comes up reads: login to server mail orcon.net.nz with username habitation failed. Please can you check that your server settings above are correct? And if there is a bug? Irma

Steps to reproduce:

Open Thunderbird. Account settings: Check "Check for new messages every 10 minutes". Keep Thunderbird running forever.

Actual results:

Sometimes Thunderbird stops checking messages for no reason. No checks are done for many days.

Expected results:

It should always check messages every 10 minutes, keep checking forever.

I successfully linked / synced the thunderbird calendar with the iCloud calendar. Calendar entries manually entered in iCloud or iPhone calendar are successfully synced and are visible in the thunderbird mail. The other way round, syncing the existing entries in the Thunderbird calendar does not work. They do not appear in the iCloud or iPhone calendar. Searching the internet, the specific Thunderbird or Apple help-sites did not provide an obvious solution for this problem. I went through all (or nearly all) recommendations given by Apple, no success to sync from Thunderbird to iCloud.

Any suggestion what to modify or adjust

If you are using the release level of 153, and prefer not to see the Thundermail menu entry, do these two things:

Add this statement to the userControl.css file: /* ##### Stop display of Thundermail menu item. */ @media not -moz-pref("mail.accounthub.thundermail.enabled") {

 #tbpro-menu-id-root { 
   display: none; 
 } 

}

Set this entry in Config Editor to FALSE: mail.accounthub.thundermail.enabled

Prelude:

1. I have several email addresses in Thunderbird.

ISSUE:

1. One address, the first on the list, Draft folder shows "1"
2. View email Shows "No message found"

QUESTION: I like to keep a tidy Thunderbird - how might I fix this issue?

After the latest update to the program I noticed that a previous folder is missing along with its saved emails. That folder still exists along with saved messages on the ISP server. This has happened previously and then re-appeared some months later, perhaps with an application update. The rest of my folders display properly along with their saved emails.

i used to have several folders, all mail, sent mail, drafts etc as subfolders under [gmail] but they have disappeared in my acwentz5@gmail.com account. i have another separate account acwentz@gmail.com and those folders are still there. also, on my iphone, both accounts have those folders. so, where are those folders on my desktop acwentz5@gmail.com account???

My old laptop died, and just reinstalled TB on new laptop. I have the SSD with old profile, and added profile to the new Profiles folder. Thought it would be as simple as editing the Profile.ini to specify the old profile, but that hasn't worked. Need help.

When I click an email open, More than HALF the screen is taken up by a fixed Header. This leaves only 2" high to read the email. Can I change this and get a page to read the mail? I do not half a page to see date and time etc. an no space to read the mail. Its terrible!
