Hello All, The opening email changed to a reader that works, but I'd prefer to use the "Classic Reader" by default. Searching the settings hasn't turned up anything that sounds right. Is there a behind-the-scenes file that I need to edit to resolve this issue?

I transferred data to a new computer. I have two emails, when I click 'New Message' one email has a line below the subject line that allows me to set Paragraph, Variable width, font color, Font size Bold, etc. the other does not have the line where do I turn it on at?

I already have View > Sort by > Date is selected, View > Sort by > Descending selected, and thread sorting set in settings. See screenshots. Threads sorting so newest is at the bottom, they should be at the top. General emails are sorting properly, newest at the top.

I’m looking for card body previews in the message list/card view, similar to seeing a short preview of the email body under the subject/sender. Is this feature currently available anywhere in Thunderbird?

If not, is it planned, and is there any estimated version or timeline for when it may be added?

I use Thunderbird to access my Gmail accounts. Gmail is confirgured for IMAP and I am able to access all of my E-mail accounts ... so that is good.

However, I do have one issue: When I delete an E-mail in Thunderbird, it moves to the TRASH folder and I empty that daily. However, when I go to Gmail, I can see that they are STILL in "All Mail". If I access All Mail in Thunderbird and delete messages, they reappear.

The only way I am able to get rid of them for good is to access them in Gmail. If I don;t, the All MAil folders grow like crazy and messages thgat I deleted are still there .. some were several years old.

Question: Is there a way to set up Thunderbird so that when an E-mail is deleted in Thunderbird, that it takes it out of "All Mail"?

In Thunderbird, when reading an eMail, if the Junk or Delete button is clicked on, that eMail gets marked as Junk or Deleted. For either of those selections, the next message immediately gets automatically opened without someone clicking for that to happen.

Our Suggestion is to change the Junk and Delete button features so that only marking an eMail as Junk and deleting it happens, without automatically opening the next eMail. Also, when deleting an open eMail, change it so that deleting it is all that happens, without automatically opening the next eMail after deleting one.

I don't use Archives or Templates. There is no folder on my servers that correspond to these and they are not subscribed in my IMAP settings.

They don't appear in the per-account view. But they somehow appear in the unified folder view.

I am not able to figure out how to make them disappear.

Help.

Whenever I restart Thunderbird, I have to change the settings back to "Table view," 20 recent folders, sorted alphabetically. This occurs on only one of my computers (Windows 11). My guess is that the settings file must be corrupted. How do I fix that?

I need help to remove a Thunderbird message "Welcome to Freedom" which pops up every time I open Thunderbird to read or write mails. Can you remove it, please? Or advice me how to remove it. Thank you Kind regards Kirsten Liljegren [redacted]@gmail.com

Many times, I have a conversation with many messages. I may want to sort the array of conversation fields on any field. Currently, if I click on any field name, the conversation collapses.

This product use to be simple. But now will not let me see the whole layout . Have to chase it across back to the begining. Been with this program over 15 years. Now i Hate it! Arthur Lovett as my father would say Keep it Simple and workable.

When I open the sentmail folder, I want the receiptants name (email address) to show in the list of emails sent instead of my name (email address). How do I resolve this?

I searched throughout Thunderbird's settings to see where I could enlarge the font in the main screen where the list of emails are. I can't even Ctrl+ in this screen to enlarge it! Help! Eye Strains... Please see the paint screenprint.jpg. for illustration. Thank you! Marla

Whereas on my other computers with the same account I can see all my Emails of years past, on my main computer suddenly and without any understandable reason only the mails of about the last four weeks are accessible and probably saved, be it in the default folder or a local one. I use Norton and Malwarebytes, but so i did already before the change took place. What can I do to reverse Thunderbird to its normal behaviour?

I use Thunderbird with Threaded View enabled and would like to keep using it.

What I am looking for is a way to have Thunderbird automatically keep older threads collapsed, while allowing threads that contain new or unread messages to remain expanded or become expanded automatically.

For example, a thread receives a new message - it is fine for that thread to be expanded. All other existing threads without new activity should remain collapsed. When Thunderbird is restarted, I would like older threads to stay collapsed rather than having many previously viewed threads expanded.

Is there a setting, hidden preference, add-on, or workaround that provides this behavior?

I am using Thunderbird on Kubuntu Linux.
