A few months ago, Firefox was handing off 'search' from the Google search bar (in the middle of the page) to the address bar. In March this was fixed with updated version 148.1 (I believe). When I logged in this morning - Firefox said there was some kind of error and made me reinstall it. My search reverted back to handing off to the address bar - AGAIN! In settings I located, under 'Search' the box that allowed this hand-off and I unchecked it and restarted Firefox and STILL my search is being moved from the Google search bar in the middle of the page to the address bar. I mean, WTH?!?!?!? Why is everything always a problem? Why is nothing working correctly? Why does Firefox make these indiscriminate changes? I cannot work like this. Please, please, please, someone help me.

Perhaps I have missed a setting somewhere - while I like the concept of pinning tabs, I use the side bar to display my open tabs. If I choose to pin a tab, that tab is pinned to the top. Great. However, if I wish to pin 10 tabs, for example, they are all pinned in a single row. What I would like to be able to do is to stack them, maybe 3 per row, then have the 4th, 5th , and 6th form a second row. Is this possible?

I’m facing a strange issue with Firefox and need some help.

When I try to use Firefox normally, it sometimes opens but doesn’t load pages properly or gets stuck on a blank screen. I’ve already checked my internet connection and it’s working fine in other browsers.

I also tried restarting Flixfox and clearing cache, but the issue still comes back randomly.

Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what could be causing this? Any guidance would be really appreciated.

I would like to control the animation speed of .GIF (ie on Wikipedia). I would like to stop, manual single step or play frames one per duration (ie 1 frame every 2 sec or 1 frame every .5 sec). I would also like to control whether it repeats. I would like to freeze at any point then resume playing given the above settings.

How do I do this?

PS: There may be other types of animation files which the above control could apply to as well.

I have asked several times, and received no responses that helped. I am continuously hammered with GAH! I've tried everything I've found both from Mozilla, and Google AI, but have had no solutions. What am I missing? If I have to uninstall, then reinstall Firefox, I'm going back to one of the better versions, like 98, or 99, or earlier, which I've got on old HDD's that still function. Thanks to anybody who can offer a real solution.

In Firefox (up to date), the “module” (right-click) that allows for direct translation is great, and I want to thank you for it.

However, do you plan to keep the “Windows 98-style” stamp-like format of the dialog box that opens for much longer? In 2026, on 27-inch screens, it’s honestly very annoying—even if you can zoom in just a tiny bit, it’s a pointless step and not ergonomic at all! I have been having issues where I am unable to access the website: www.loki.ch. This is the web site for a Swiss railway magazine. I have always been able to access it previously, but haven't used it now for a few months. However this week when I've tried, I'm blocked access to it (see the attached screen shots). I do note that since I had previously access the web site, there have been updates to Firefox. However, when trying to use either Edge or Google Chrome, they also block me, but just say that unable to access the web site, nothing mentioned about being "Not Secure" as Firefox does. It's not a web site where you have to log in and/or use passwords. Contacting the magazine by Facebook messenger yields no response from them. Posting the issue on a Facebook group, other users have responded that they can access it (one was from Slovenia and the other in the UK). One mentioned issues from Australia where I am. It's not a dangerous or suspect web site, simply a magazine about Swiss Model Trains. I have tried adjusting settings to exempt it in Settings - no change. Not a anti virus issue. None of the suggestions in the FAQ have exactly the same scenario in the screen shots attached.

Surely there has to be some way to bypass whatever is in Firefox Security preventing me from accessing this web site?

I have seen many topics about creating your own extension and uploading it to Mozilla for approval but not publishing it so that you can use it yourself only, but none of them tell you what to do after your extension has successfully passed review. I would like to install the extension that I created (and can see in the "My Add-ons" area of mozilla.org), but I have no idea how to do that. Do any of you have any experience with this? This extension was previously only for Chrome but I made some changes to make it Firefox compatible, and I don't want to publish it since it's technically someone else's work. Thanks.
