Could anybody help me? Since yesterday morning I have not been able to send or receive emails on Thunderbird.

I have two computers: a laptop and a desktop. On both of them I use Thunderbird as my main email service. On the desktop I also have MS Outlook. I am able to send and receive emails on the desktop on MS Outlook.

Error message on the desktop when I try to send a test email: Sending message failed. The message could not be sent because the Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.rushmore.com failed. The server may be unavailable or refusing SMTP connection. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

Error message on the laptop when I try to send a test email: You are about to override how Thunderbird identifies this site. Legitimate banks, stores, and other public sites will not ask you to do this. Location: mail.rushmore.com:587 [get certificate] This site attempts to identify itself with invalid information. Outdated information The certificate is not currently valid. It may have been stolen or lost, and could be used by someone to impersonate this site. [check] [Permanently store exception]

Interestingly, yesterday I was receiving the same error message on the desktop computer, except the number under Location mail.rushmore.com: was different (not 587). I do not remember what this number was.

Just noticed this starting yesterday. Possibly it started when Ffox updated to v144.0 and I just didn't notice immediately.

I use the address bar (location bar, awesome bar) for searching (with Google, per settings). Up until very recently, the result of hitting Enter after entering my search string would be the URL for the Google results. This can be very handy to copy; e.g., when offering citations during an online discussion.

However, I don't see the URL anymore. After pressing Enter, my original search string remains there, in the address bar. That's not what I want. Using Google means my original search string is right there at the top of the page, in an input field, that can be made active with a single keystroke. Therefore, if it is intended to be helpful by keep the contents of the address bar what they were before I pressed Enter, may I just say that it is not.

Note: I can get the old desired behavior by going to google[.]com and entering the search string there, but that's an annoyance, after years of being able to simply hit Ctrl-L.

Attached is a screenshot of what I now see. Note what's in the address bar -- my original search string. Previously, it would have been something like "https://www.google.com/search?q=this+is+a+test&sca_esv=[ ...]"

Up through Thunderbird 142 everything was working great. Starting with 143, I get frequent "client didn't present a certificate" errors, but the next attempt will work (or not). I didn't report it, hoping that 144 would fix it. It didn't, and I've also updated to 144.0.1, still no joy.

I am running Thunderbird on Arch Linux. I am connecting to a postfix/dovecot back end that I control on Ubuntu 24.04. I have made numerous tweaks to various SSL/TLS settings on each side (some of which seemed to lessen the frequency, but not resolve the issue), so I reverted nearly all of the changes.

The issue occurs whether I am in Thunderbird trouble-shooting mode (safe mode) or not. I also cleared the startup cache which made no difference. I am including server output from when I was in trouble-shooting mode, as well as a dump from trouble-shooting mode from Thunderbird.

According to AI (I know, shoot me...), the issue occurs because Thunderbird is insisting on cached TLS connections in TLSv1.3 no matter what settings I have, and dovecot isn't handling it well. I have tried forcing TLSv1.2 only, which is one of the things that made the problem less frequent, but it still didn't go away completely.

I apologize for the formatting in advance, but I don't see any way to upload a file (other than an image?) or create a code block. I'll happily fix this if someone lets me know the correct way to handle this...

hi in a new win 10 instal most text incl Fire Fox text is made up of letters [font] that are made of thin and thick lines [in the same letter]

i dont know if its a strange font or another problem, i have copied all "font" setting from my other pc where i dont have the problem.

also i cant get spell check to work here dsespite turning it on

its very distracting, would be very gratefull for any suggestones if any one can

I'm on a Win 10 desktop. Version 140.3.1esr worked okay yesterday but when I started it this morning it is now missing my email accounts, folders, calendar, and contacts. Unfortunately I haven't done a backup in some time. The first image shows what I see.

The 2nd image shows that there are 2 profiles in the Thunderbird folder. The rc2jk0cq.default-release profile was created today & appears to have all of my data; it's the default profile. The v9w93tjh.default profile has an extensions folder and 3 files.

How can I recover from this?

I'm trying to get the calendar app working in a new Thunderbird installation. Ever since Dropbox updated sometime during the week of 9/22-9/26, I've been having internet connectivity issues when trying to use the Dropbox website on my Firefox Desktop browser. I use the Dropbox Desktop App on my PC as well, and if Firefox is set to my default browser, I get the same connectivity issues. I've been in contact with Dropbox, and they're trying to troubleshoot the issue on their end, but they suggested that I reach out to Firefox as well.

Here's a more detailed summary of the problem:

I am having internet connectivity issues if Firefox is set to my default browser and/or I try to use the Dropbox website on Firefox. When Firefox is my default browser and the Dropbox Desktop App tries to login, I lose internet connectivity. I'm not sure exactly what's happening, because my PC says I'm connect to the wifi with internet and all my other connected devices are connected to the internet on the same wifi and work fine; however, all webpages I try to load give me errors for connectivity issues, the Dropbox Desktop App can't login because it's "waiting to connect", and no other programs on my PC (i.e. Outlook, Chrome, etc.) can use the internet. It's very strange, because if I look at my network connection for my PC, it looks like it should be connected like normal, but nothing works. When I reboot, the internet works perfectly fine until the Dropbox Desktop App loads and tries to sign in again. I have found that if I change my default browser to Chrome, the Dropbox desktop app can login properly and I experience no internet interruptions. I am currently using Chrome as my default browser as a work around to this issue; however, if I simply try to access the Dropbox website on Firefox, all of my internet connectivity issue return. There seems to be some sort of conflict between Dropbox and Firefox.

In the past several weeks while trying to resolve the issue internally and with Dropbox, I've done the following with no success: - verified Dropbox, Firefox, and Windows 11 are all up-to-date - temporarily disabled Norton's Auto-Protect and Firewall - cleared my cache & cookies in Firefox - disabled extensions & add-ons in Firefox - tried using an incognito window in Firefox - uninstalled & reinstalled the Dropbox Desktop App - uninstalled & reinstalled the Firefox Desktop browser

Prior to 9/26, Firefox had been my default browser and the Dropbox Desktop App and website had worked as expected for the entire life of my PC. At the end of the day on 9/29 I did a system restore to 9/24 (before the Dropbox update), and everything worked perfectly before I shut down. When I turned my PC on the next morning, Dropbox auto-updated again and the issue returned.

I know this appears to be a Dropbox created issue, but if you have any ideas or suggestions, I would appreciate your help.

Can no longer attach RGB565 16-bit color BMP files. We have used these files for YEARS due to our *OLD* embedded system and *USED* to be able to POST them using Firefox on Confluence, but *NOW* someone changed it to give you and *ERROR*, attached is the *ERROR* and what the image *SHOULD* look like! Please add an EXTENSION (plug-in) to support these images again (or *AT LEAST* let me drag and drop them as I used to be able to do). I would add it using "Add Images" below but Firefox *WON'T LET ME*!!! I get the ERROR (that I never used to get until recently): The image "file:///C:blahblahblah.bmp" cannot be displayed because it contains errors. It does *NOT* contain errors, it is just an older format that is perfectly *FINE* and should be supported!!!

I've tried the "verify integrity" fix and got the results shown in the screenshot below. I've restarted my mac, I've shutdown and started my mac with a hard boot and the icons still show up like globes.

Firefox 144 starts in Windows 11 for a second and dissappears. There are 10 new Firefox processes visible in the task manager. When I start a second time, an empty browser opens, although Firefox should display the last session. Only over chronicle and last opened windows I can restore the last session. I switched of every addon, but no change. I don't use a special theme. What can I do to work with Firefox like before?
