When I save a webpage (complete) to my desktop or to a folder (web saves), a htm file and its associated folder are created. The file and folder remain there whilst I have Firefox running. When I close Firefox the htm file instantly disappears, never to be seen again, unless......... If I copy and paste the file and folder to another location they both remain. Why is this so? TIA, Fiona.

Did you check your privacy control settings? Also could be security software related clearing Temp folders or files.

Could you be more specific? Do you need more information from me to assist me?

Firefox is basically set for No Tracking, No uploads without my permission, Allow Cookies; and clearing of Temp files, site data and Cookies I do once a week, maybe.

HTH because it is a pain having to shift htm files and their folders to another location to preserve their functionality. A "_files" folder is useless without its ".htm" file.

History must be set to "Remember" or .htm deletes from view. Explorer still thinks it exists, even though you can't see it.

Thanks.
