Can only connect to a camera if I use IE plugin. Is there a fix?

If that camera only supports an ActiveX plugin and not other ways like a Java applet then your only option is to use IE or like you currently probably do use an extension that uses IE in Firefox. You would have to contact the company or check its website and ask then about support in other browsers that do not use/support ActiveX or are on platform other than supported windows versions.
