under help - it says "resume downloading firefox 3.6.6, and when i click on it - it says it is paused. can not get it to continue. it is frozen.
under "help"- between "web forgery..." and "mozella..." -it says: resume downloading firefox 3.6.6... and, when i click on it - it is titled "downloading update" and it is frozen.

I found a solution on the following web page under the heading "Software Update not working properly":

Basically the fix involved closing Firefox, going to the "C:\Documents and Settings\<myusername>\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox" folder and deleting the "updates" folder as-well-as the "active-update.xml" and "updates.xml" files.
