When attempting to send mail in Thunderbird, I am getting a very long string of gibberish (code?) How do I get rid of this irritation? Thanks
When I attempt to send an email in Thunderbird I get an extensive string of gibberish that I have to delete before I can send the email. What can I do to get rid of this huge irritation? Thanks

No error message but what I see is a very long string that looks like this -- PK!ߤlZ [Content_Types].xml (n0EUb袪*>-R{VǼQU l"%33Vƃښl w%=^i7+-d&0A6l4L60#ÒS OX*V$z33%p)O^5}nH"dsXgL`|ԟ|Prۃs?PWtt4Q+"wa|T\y,NU%-D/ܚXݞ(<e);nl?f˼܉<fk hyڜqi?ޯli1]hgm@mpk!n_rels .rels (j0 @ѽqn c[ilj<]agӓzsfu]u ^[x1xp f#i)ʃy*di")c$qu~31jh[{="E~" f?3-]tꓸ2j),l0 %b < p></e);nl?f˼܉<fk>
- Where, specifically do you you see this "string of gibberish? A screen shot would be helpful. If attempting to write an email it is at the top of the body

That looks to me like what you will see if you try to open a binary (data or program) file with a text editor. And the "PK!ߤlZ> bit at the beginning suggests a compressed ZIP file.
Are you using a signature file, especially one with an image in it?
Are you basing this message on a template that may have a binary attachment?
