Did they REALLY put a pop-up ad in their "update" notice?
Unbelievable! Talk about irony. I just got the latest Firefox update. What was it touting? "We've blocked MORE of the pop-up ads!!" And what did it include? A pop-up advertisement from Mozilla. I just wanted to find out if that was a gag, a one-off incident, or someone pirating Mozilla's new update to show that it doesn't do what their touting.

And funnest is perhaps the feature is not pop–up blocker, but an ad–blocker?
For the ridicule this way please: https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/1wj25bg/maximum_irony/

The Ad was likely about the ad blocker feature in Firefox for iOS/iPadOS https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/block-ads-firefox-ios
The https://www.firefox.com/en-US/whatsnew/156/ page mentions
Pop-up ads, you’re going down. Firefox for iOS now has a built-in ad blocker that helps cut down on annoying ad junk, so there’s more room for what you actually came to see. Turn it on under Settings > Browsing. Get Firefox on mobile
Note the for iOS as it was not about the desktop Firefox version. Even though you may be using desktop Firefox they may be trying to give people a reason to consider using the mobile versions of Firefox also if they were not already.
