I understand that Firefox does not support Java. I am using a win 7 laptop and use Firefox 95% of the time. Am I save removing Java from my computer? thanks

Firefox doesn't support Java internally, but it is still possible to launch a Java application via a JWS (Java Web Start) XML file in an external Java window.

If you never use Java this way then you can uninstall Java.
