Youtube not working after RAM upgrade?
Hi
Like many others I'm finding Youtube doesn't work for me on Firefox (normal or safe mode). Works on all other browsers. I get a link to a still of the video but the central start arrow doesn't respond, and no time indicator underneath. Other video channels, Netflix, streams etc no prob. I've tried removing all addons, unticking acceleration, refreshing Firefox, no use. This seems to have started though when I added an extra 6Gb of RAM to my (W10) desktop the other day. Everything else faster and better but...no Youtube. Some sort of system/speed/BIOS issue? But why just Youtube? Any help appreciated!

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.
If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data for that website will be saved once again.

Did it work in Firefox before that RAM upgrade?
Or is that why you did that upgrade, and found that it didn't fix a "pre-existing condition"?
I use YouTube every day and with a old desktop PC and running a 32-bit Win7 OS, I "live" with 4GB of RAM along with 32-bit applications addressing barely over 3GB per application.

I highly recommend that you now test ALL your RAM to check compatibility of the "new" with the "old".

I would use Option 2: by using MemTest86
Seems to work fine on 64-Bit Windows OS's per what I hear and read.
I have been using it for many years, although it hasn't been updated in many years now. I solved a lot of issues over the years, PC's that had mis-matched RAM cards due to "upgrades" with the wrong RAM card/s.
co-rel, thanks, that worked! the ed-meister - thanks for your thoughts. I did check memory using the Windows option and all clear.
