Firefox doesn't update with operating system updates. Totally separate update system and a different source.

Selenium supports only particular version. So I am downloading Firefox 42.0.But it was updating even I set my firefox with no updates automatically.

Firefox 42.0 is pretty outdated. I’m not entirely sure, but that may be the reason your version got updated nevertheless, ignoring the update settings in Firefox. It would be better to download a higher version - I would expect additional (and apparently appreciated) software to support at least Firefox 52 ESR.

If you were referring to the Selenium IDE add-on, there are reports of it not being compatible with recent Firefox versions or at least 59 (see this groups thread and recent reviews on AMO). The Selenium IDE add-on itself however just got a recent update, so that’s the good news. Apparently it has been rewritten.

How about installing the latest add-on in Firefox 59?

Even I download 52 version and made it not to update automatically it was always updating.

Why do you need an older version of Firefox?
