Long time Thunderbird user. Few weeks ago, sorted by correspondents and unable to return to sort emails by date in ascending order. It is like it is locked.
Long time Thunderbird user. Few weeks ago, sorted by correspondents column and unable to return to sort emails by date in ascending order, as I usually do. It is like it is locked. I have shut down and rebooted several times, to no avail. Please advise what to do. I seem to only be able to access by gmail, and much prefer Thunderbird. Thank you.

Writing to supplement my problem that was submitted earlier this evening.
Also getting an unresponsive script message when I reopen Thunderbird: Script: chrome://messenger/content/folderDisplay.js:530 and it cannot be disabled when I reopen Thunderbird.
From other forum comments, I deleted parent.lock & xulstore.json files.
