Someone sends me a video, a privat video. I can only watch it through my gmail account. How can I download this video from youtube so it can be watched without internet access.

Try to use an integrated add-on like Video DownloadHelper or Flash Video Downloader.
I never tried to download videos which require to be log in to be watched, but I assume it will work.

They will. Logins are for protected sites. But once in there should be no problem.
