How can I get Firefox to download mp3 files again?

I can't remember the last time downloaded mp3s, but when tried to download mp3 files today with the "save link as" option, it only gave me the option to save them as htm files. This is seriously frustrating because I'm having the same issues with Google Chrome and I've tried looking at multiple troubleshooting guides to no avail. Plus, my anti-virus us turning up nothing. Please help.

hello, when a mp3 file is playing in the embedded firefox player, you can right-click that and download the file this way.
