After upgrading to the latest version of Thunderbird ( release 141.0), I noticed an issue in the message list window: the horizontal scrollbar at the bottom appears very close to the last visible email in the list (which is usually the most recent message, depending on the sort order). In some cases, the scrollbar even overlaps the subject line of that last email. This often makes it difficult or even impossible to click on the email, as the scrollbar covers a large portion of its title. This issue occurs when the "Quick Filter" feature is enabled. If I disable "Quick Filter," a proper space appears between the last email's title and the scrollbar, and the issue no longer occurs.

Whenever I reopen Thunderbird 140esr (it has this behavior on 140.0, 140.1.0 and now 140.2.0), there is a second lower case "thunderbird" process that causes 50-150% CPU usage in the two processes. Also if I quit with both processes active I get an error message that "thunderbird" has unexpectedly quit. If I quit the "thunderbird" process with Activity Monitor the CPU issues go away for as long as the Thunderbird app is open.

I found this exact issue as a reported bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1977514&_gl=1*1coyjyr*_ga*ODYxNzE0NjQyLjE2OTY0NDU3MDg.*_ga_2VC139B3XV*czE3NTY2OTAwOTckbzMkZzEkdDE3NTY2OTAyMzYkajI0JGwwJGgw It says that it was fixed, though, and it has not been for me. Does that mean it's only been fixed in versions not yet released, or is it already (incorrectly) believed to be fixed for everyone? Thank you.

Intermittently, the older version of Thunderbird would give me an error message "Login to server mail.comcast.net with username XXXXX@comcast.net failed." Whenever I choose to Enter New Password (with the one that I am certain is good), it simply returns the same error message.

I did a Windows uninstall of the app. When I reinstalled from a fresh download of the latest version, the program autofilled everything and looks like no change was actually made to my emails, setup, etc.

With the updated version, I continue to have the same error message.

Suggestions?

Thunderbird has put itself into the system tray, even though I have it checked in settings not to.

At the same time, another email app which was there and is set to minimize into the system, Mailwasher, that I need to be there, isn't. I checked with that tech support, but they couldn't help. There is room for both.

Since the two software "events" occurred at the same time, it's too coincidental that one didn't affect the other. So I'm hoping someone has a suggestion to tell T-bird NOT to put itself in the system tray.

Thanks.

Trying to "copy" my Win10 Thunderbird setup to Manjaro Linux. Have read the help page on moving to a new PC, but there are a few "differences" from the article and none of the obvious things I tried are working. (note this has worked in the past going between Win machines)

Win10 TB version is 115.10.0; Manjaro TB version is 141.0. I can locate the windows dir and copy it; it is "Thunderbird". The Linux dir is ".thunderbird". I've tried copying the win dir tree over and renaming it to .thunderbird but that was a bust. TB just recreated a .thunderbird dir with defaults in it.

So I am wondering what to try next. There is a .1 version of Win TB, with that have a more compatible dir structure for linux? Something else to try??

Thanks

I am being plagued - AGAIN - by the google login screen from Hell!

How can I get rid of it? I searched online and found instructions to open my google account and change settings to disallow signing in to other apps via google. The instructions didn't match the options offered by the google webpage. I disabled the option to allow signing in with Android devices (I don't have any Android devices unless one of my IoT devices is Android.) I could find no other options to changes except some relating to Chrome, which I use only for web development testing.

I tried to login here as usual using 2 different gmail.com domain email accounts: neither worked. I presumed that the damned google screen from Hell was blocking them; so I set up this login that doesn't use a gmail.com domain.

I tried to send a test email from a gmail.com domain email address to other addresses using the gmail domain and to addresses that do not use the gmail domain. The test ran for several minutes without completing. The only mail I have received in TBird is to the non-gmail domain.

3 questions: 1) How do I get rid of the google login screen? 2) Is it blocking email? 3) How do I get TBird to work again with all my email addys?

Hello,

This worked with no problems for many months.

Recently, probably only starting today, Thunderbird complains about inability to write to Drafts (or any other IMAP folders).

When writing a new message, after certain number of character entered to the message body, a "copying message to Drafts folder...." is presented at the bottom.

This message at the bottom of the screen does not go away... it is just stuck there (and the email message does not appear in the Drafts folder, on gmail). (as I said, it used to be fine, until today).

In some cases, also a pop-up is presented that says that Thunderbird can't write to the draft folder, and suggest to write to a local folder. (That's really nice, but not what I want...)

I tried, some solutions, such as making sure the folder name is "Subscibed" and doing a a right-click on the folder name and then Settings-->Repair Folder - but this does not help.

READING from the imap folder seems to work fine. I see new messages arriving at my gmail Inbox folder in Thunderbird.

Any idea? Is there a way to debug this to understand if this is a network error (????) or some wrong behaivor on the side of the gmail imap server?

Any guidance on how to provide more information in order to help the experts provide a solution/fix is most welcome...

Thanks! Ari

Since TB update 140.1, my emails coming into Inbox sit there for a few seconds, then move to a subfolder I have under the inbox for my Orders. My account is a Microsoft Exchange Account working with Owl. The emails are also doing the same thing in Outlook too. The only difference is when I reroute the emails back to inbox, in Outlook they go there and you can see them. In Thunderbird, the emails disappear from the subfolder and are nowhere to be found. They don't show in Inbox or anywhere else.

I have asked Microsoft, in Thunderbird Community before, and Owl, and no one has any help. I finally resorted to AI and it gave me lots of things to try but none worked. I tried repairing folders, making a new profile (problem replicated itself in the new profile as well), and so many things of which nothing helped. I have lots of different folders and message filters and all worked well for years until this update. It's a specific issue with the Inbox because I can forward messages into other folders and they will go and be visible there, but when it comes to inbox, they disappear.

My AI searches have stated that this has been a known issue, yet Owl seems to be clueless. Usually they will fix things within a few days, but this issue still persists after weeks. Does anyone else have this problem and a solution to try? This is really messing up my workflow and I don't want to miss any important emails.

Thanks in advance!

After downloading Thunderbird for Android onto my mobile, I imported email accounts and settings (all, including passwords) from the desktop´s Thunderbird to the phone´s Thunderbird by scanning the desktop´s QR codes.

I got all the accounts and messages onto the mobile but not the primary password. On the desktop I still have to log into Thunderbird but not so on the mobile. There is also no way to set a primary password in Thunderbird for Android since it only displays General Settings.

Thunderbird for Android does receive emails so it seems to know the passwords to the servers.

I have the newest versions of Windows 10 and Android.

Any help on how to import or set the primary password in Thunderbird for Android would be greatly appreciated.

Content snap command-chain for /snap/thunderbird/791/gpu-2404/bin/gpu-2404-provider-wrapper not found: ensure slot is connected

This was after installing the latest update - mozilla package update. I tried re-installing the Ubuntu package with "sudo apt remove thunderbird" and then "sudo apt install thunderbird". Nothing changes, same behavior.

Without thunderbird able to run, I fear that it will also be unable to provide an update to fix the broken package. I don't know what to try next. Please help.

In Outlook it is possible to have the favorites fixed in top of the folder pane column. This is very handy when moving emails from the inbox to often used folders which fall outside the displayed part of the folder pane. (You don't have to scroll back if you want to display the content of the inbox). I cannot find a way how I could do this in Thunderbird. Is there a way to fix favorite folders in top of the folder pane?

This question was asked 10 years ago but I can't find where a fix was ever found for the latest version of TB. I would really like to keep the favorite folders in sight while scrolling down through the other folders I've created.

Is there an add-on for this? I searched without finding one.
