Thunderbird for Android Community Forum

Hi, I have been using Thunderbird for Android for about a month. Loving it. Easy to set up and use. I have three email accounts. The unified inbox showed all emails until yesterday. Now it seems to be showing random emails from all 3 accounts but not all. I have to go to each inbox to get the full overview. What can be wrong?

I have a lot of folders in my account and most have sub folders. When I search the folders, it shows all the sub folders making selection a long task. Is it possible to hide these sub folders as you can in GMail for android and TB for PCs.

I'm wondering if Thunderbird on Android can autocomplete email addresses that are not in my address book.

For example, I respond to an email from xyz@abc.com. When I create a new message, not a reply, and type in "xyz@" it fails to find anything. This is the opposite of how Gmail or iOS Mail works.

I have been running Tbird on my desktop for years, and it's still working great.

About 2 years ago I picked up a One Plus 11G which came with no e-mail client. I searched for Tbird and found K9 mail (with promises of Tbird soon), which I installed and used since then with no problems.

Few months ago, i got my wife a Samsung23+ and she used the supplied e-mail and messaging programs but constantly complained that she could have only one notification sound for both mails and texts and wanted to tell them apart. I told her I'd have to install a separate mail app so she could have two different sounds.

OK, I checked and finally found that Tbird was now available for Android so i installed it on her phone and she is very happy now.

Since it worked for her, I decided to install it on my phone to replace K9 Mail, and that's when the fun started.

It works great for incoming mails, but when I try to send mails via WiFi or via cell, I get a "Failed to send some messages sender refused" notification.

I got another phone and installed Tbird and it behaves the same way on that phone whether I set it up as POP (my usual setting) or IMAP.

I've installed other mail apps (GMAIL and Edison)and they send out with no problems both POP and IMAP.

If I go to the the Optonline web mail site via Firefox on my phone, I have no issues sending out mails, but that is a clunky way to do since Tbird normally worked so well as it is now or in iots earlier K9 version.

Any idea what is causing this problem only with Tbird? I really like Tbird and I don't like the other two apps.

I'd like to make sure that my Thunderbird is in the server type of IMAP I'm new at this so I don't know how it is connected to a another server email which I would eventually like to close out and delete but keep everything in my Thunderbird.

When I "Star" an email it disappears out of Inbox completely and I can only see it if I click on the "Star" option in the sorting menu. I've looked to see if there is a "Starred" folder but can't find one. I've now discovered that if someone replies to an email that I've starred I get no notification at all, it is just added to the thread. The next time I sort by Star I suddenly see unread replies to previously starred emails - bit of a nightmare! So, is there a way that I can adjust settings to: 1. Leave starred messages in the Inbox (or the folder that I move them to), but allow me to sort by Star when I need to? 2. Have new replies to previously starred messages appear as new notifications, the same way they do for normal emails.

Hi, when I search for emails from "name person," the search does not return results. When I search by email address, it does not find emails from that person but instead finds emails from other people. It isn't working? 🫥🤔
