The release notes for 142.0 say:

Keep an active tab visible in a collapsed tab group
Focus on just one tab in a group without the clutter. Your active tab stays in view, keeping
things tidy even with the group collapsed.

But it does not define what an "active tab" is. I usually have a group which never collapses, it always has one or more tabs visible no matter what I do. Is this a bug? Or is there some way to stop tabs from being 'active'?

i took my laptop into ubreakifix for inactive keyboard issue, after 3 updates one being Microsoft bios update. the ubreakifix got the keyboard recognizing fingers again yet had deactivated my wifi network abilities to get online. i went through several restores until i have both working now.

My biggest concern is my Mozilla PIN on security & passwords has been deactivated, along with Microsoft syncs of pin requirements. Im still finding personal settings that have been changed without my permission. how do i get my security back up to par with Nightly and Mozilla protections all activated?

I also keep getting this bit defender popup on all reboots.

When I expand the Firefox page to fill my screen the top section of the application is completely blocked (see picture) I can only see about .125 or less in of the bookmark section. Everything else is blocked. No other application is having this problem, only Firefox. Until this evening Firefox has worked just fine.

When the application is not set to fill the screen I can see everything fine. (see picture).

I have uninstalled program and reinstalled... no luck. I've cleared out all history, cookies, etc... no luck.

Please advise.

I've come across a bunch of issues with opening a new window in Firefox. Can anyone here help me fix this functionality please? I'm running Windows 10, with a freshly installed copy of Firefox .

-The bookmark bar on a second window is blank. Disabling it (ctrl + shift + b) and re-enabling it, doesn't fix it, but you can see the "space" for the bar going away when disabled. I can't drag items from the main window's bookmark bar to this blank bar either.

-Reopen closed tab button doesn't seem to work at all on a new window. It works as intended on the first window.

-Tabs always show "Exit full screen mode" even when not in full screen mode. Clicking this option, enables full screen mode. Clicking it a second time, disables it and brings us back where we started.

-Cannot access the application menu (hamburger menu) on a new window. Clicking the button does nothing. Also applies to any extension button that appears in the top right corner.

This is about Hotmail.com/Outlook.com, the web email version.

My hotmail.com email is set up so I don't have to sign in on my laptop. Of course, if I delete my history, then I do have to sign in, but I always check the box so I can skip the sign in page.

The other day, I did a Windows Update (Windows 11). That's all. I did not delete my history or anything. But I had to sign into Hotmail. And yes, I am clicking "Yes" to skip the sign in page.

Turns out, I don't have to sign in when I use the same Firefox browser that I signed in on. But if I x out of my browser, and open up a new browser, I have to sign in. It was never like that. I was always able to skip the sign in page.

I thought this was a Microsoft Issue, but I am skipping the sign in page using Chrome. So it's a Firefox issue.

So what is going on? And how do I skip the sign in page even after I open a new browser?

Enabling HDR (gfx.wayland.hdr) on Linux CachyOS causes random lines to appear on the screen, both vertically and horizontally seemingly at random. Perhaps important to note that the OS originally didn't recognize my laptop display's HDR capability so I had to "force" it on with KWIN_FORCE_ASSUME_HDR_SUPPORT=1, but it still can't actually read the display's specs from EDID. Disabling gfx.wayland.hdr fixes the issue but I do really like HDR so I think I'm willing to live with it for now.

I’ve been using Firefox with a screen reader, and while it works for most basic browsing, I’ve noticed some issues with certain sites. For example, form fields aren’t always announced properly, and sometimes navigation landmarks are skipped. When I test the same pages in Chrome, the experience feels smoother.

I’d like to keep using Firefox, so I’m wondering — is there something I can adjust in my settings to improve screen reader support? Or is this more of a compatibility issue that needs to be reported as a bug?

If others here use screen readers with Firefox, I’d love to know what has worked for you. Are there specific add-ons, preferences, or troubleshooting steps that make accessibility better?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I have already unchecked the smooth scrolling setting. i have also tried with and without auto scrolling. This problem is only on firefox on my laptop. My desktop PC firefox does not have this problem, and no other program on my laptop is doing this. when i scroll with my mouse wheel, the page keeps moving for like a whole second after i stop turning the scroll wheel, like lingering movement. I Hate It and it didnt use to do this. I want the pages to stop moving way sooner and stop sliding around!!! My problem that toggling the 'use smooth scrolling' setting does literally nothing and its driving me crazy. wtf is this and how can i fix it

Since updating to Firefox 141.0 (Win11), I've had issues with performance and on-screen behaviour of dynamic web pages/sites. The problems do not manifest on Chrome, or on a reinstalled version of Fx 140.0.4 on the same computer running at the same time (and with copy of original profile's data files, extensions etc.), they do manifest on a new Firefox 141.0 profile with only one tab open.

The problem happens on dynamic pages (e.g. gmail.com, boardgamearena.com/lobby) but doesn't seem to happen on static pages. Note that this doesn't depend on page elements moving around the visible window (e.g. panels opening and closing).

The manifesting problems:

  • Screen pointer rapidly switching between standard arrow pointer, mouse with index finger (clickable link) and serifed-style insertion bar, even when positioned on a part of the page that is not a link or a text box. Video (MP4, <1MB) showing behaviour at https://imgur.com/a/absjTh4.
  • Browser intermittently fails to respond to browser actions (mouse clicks, keyboard entry)
  • Small increase in browser CPU usage

Problem is worse if general CPU usage (from other applications) is already high - low CPU usage reduces but doesn't eliminate the problem. (Established by changing my BOINC settings and/or snoozing BOINC and observing; I have a gadget that monitors CPU and other resource usage.)

The fact that I can see the problem occurring on Fx 141 but have Fx 140.0.4 working fine at the same time on the same page, suggests that this is a Fx 141 issue. Regular malware scanner and an alternate found no issues.

Happy to do more diagnostic testing if it's helpful.
