Hiya,

I just started setting up Thunderbird and I have come across a bug. At least, I think it's a bug.

The situation: I'm viewing favorite folders and unified folders. What I want, is to show some unified folders in my favorite folders. That is, my unified inbox, drafts, and sents. So, I right click on them, I select "✅ Favorite folder" and they appear among my favorite folders. All good, right? However... When I restart Thunderbird, the unified inboxes have disappeared from my favorite folders. And when I right click them, it still says they are marked as "✅ Favorite folder" And the way to make them reappear is by deselecting and reselecting them as favorite folders. See the picture.

So, what is happening? Is this a bug? My guess is that it is. Could anyone help me to circumvent this?

I have used Thunderbird for quite a while so finally sent a donation. Withing a few months, my emails won't send. Sometimes they won't receive either. I went to Comcast and asked for help and they gave me a new password for one email address and it worked for a few days now NOTHING. I'm so frustrated! I don't believe it has anything to do with Thunderbird but since Comcast is no help, I'm desperate. I have 4 email addresses and each is important to have access to. Please help me. Until today it worked fine. But now whenever I try to login to Xfinity I get You don't have permission to access "http://login.xfinity.com/login" on this server. It works fine on Chrome and Edge. I have disabled my add-ons. I have cleared cache, cookies, etc. I have rebooted. I have turned off firewall. I have checked my DNS. I have changed the DNS protection to OFF in Firefox. I have checked my proxy setting (I have no proxy). I have reinstalled Firefox. Etc. Etc. Nothing works. The fact that it works on Chrome and Edge, that it has worked everyday until today gets me confused. I also tried using my mobile phone as a hot spot to make sure it wasn't related to my Internet connection or IP address. Anyone have any ideas?

Ubuntu 24.04, Thunderbird 128.1.0esr (64-bit)

I have a mix of POP and IMAP accounts. All are read when starting Thunderbird, I receive the messages. But then, only the IMAP accounts get the messages, whatever the configuration of the Server Settings. I.e. no messages for the POP accounts from "Check for new messages every X minutes", nor from "Get Messages". I have to restart Thunderbird to get the new messages for the POP accounts.

Everything worked well before, this problem happens since I have upgraded Xubuntu from 22.04 to 24.04, where the Thunderbird package switched to a mandatory Snap, where it upgraded to 128.1.0.

I have multiple email accounts configured in Thunderbird, all of them are IMAP and hosted through Google/gmail.

Occasionally emails that I delete or move to folders will return to my inbox. This happens very irregularly. Sometimes it happens daily, sometimes it can go many days without an occurrence.

If emails are sorted within the gmail browser interface, the problem never happens.

I've tried a complete deletion of Thunderbird and all app data, and resetting all email accounts but the problem persists.

Thanks in advance!

I am a 20-year (give or take) user of Thunderbird, and it is getting almost unusable.

I am hopeful someone can help.

A lot of context....

My principal account is at Comcast (POP3; normal password), but a consulting gig has caused me to add a Outlook account (POP3; OAuth2). And I think that (along with Thunderbird updates within the past year) are the cause of my issues. And the only circumvention I have found is restarting. And yes, I have a large, multi-decade collection of e-mails in about 100 local folders.

Issues that appear intermittently:

1) Pauses (for instance, while composing e-mails) lasting up to 15 seconds where Thunderbird is unresponsive to keystrokes or other UI gestures. 2) Sometimes there are permanent "(Not responding)" lockups. Also there are times where the address book is inaccessible until Thunderbird is closed and restarted. Restarting is also the frequent cure for the persistent authentication issues. 3) Inability to access address book implicitly or via menu item 4) On start-up, generally both accounts get authenticated, but I keep getting nags to enter the Outlook password - If I ignore the nag, it pops up every couple of minutes. If I enter the password incorrectly, it tells me, but if I enter it correctly the login screen goes away, but login screen reappears within a few minutes. 5) Likely in conjunction with (4) above, I intermittently cannot send e-mails outbound to the Comcast account, with Tbird complaining about authentication; reentering the Comcast password does not help until I restart. 6) If (5) above happens, when I restart Tbird, I have to reenter Comcast passwords, even though I always select "remember password" 7) nstmp folders keep getting created.

Thank you for any assistance you can offer.

The recent upgrade to 128.1.1esr (64-bit) has left a bug that I cannot find a way to correct. The unified folders feature is very slow and prone to freeze. In particular, when I attempt to delete emails from the Junk or Trash folders, I cannot do so. Right clicking on any of the accounts of the primary unified folder does not reveal the menu. The program will freeze for several seconds and then may even open up a new instance of TB. The regular account folder work fine.

I am having trouble pinning any Extensions to my toolbar. When i click on the Extensions icon (puzzle piece), the Extensions menu immediately pops up. My extension (Bitwarden) is set to "Enabled". When I click on the three horizontal dots, however, the only options are 1) Remove, 2) Report, or 3) Manage. There's no option given to pin the extension.

Because of that, the extension basically never opens, and I am unable to use it. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks in advance.

I am running Firefox 129.0.2 (64-bit) in Windows 11 on a Surface tablet. FWIW, the extension is running fine in Chrome.

In Thunderbird, which I have used for years, there were some 95 messages in a folder. For some unknown reason (did my mouse finger slip perhaps?) they disappeared. I can see them by using "Search", but would very much like to restore them to their folder -or any folder. Can someone advise?

I have (I hope) attached a screenshot of what ""search" produces - any idea as to how I can get these messages back into a folder? I've tried making a new one, but that didn't work.

Hi, after upgrade of ubuntu to 24.04 i got into problems with using Firefox. I it running on x11 with proprietary nvidia driver, no matter of source package (snap or deb from the Firefox repository) and no matter of safe mode the Firefox gets frozen when clicking into any dropdown control in side page, the same happens when trying to open bookmark folder in the bookmarks panel or even the dialog that opens from the star icon in address folder that should add page into the bookmarks. When running on command line, in case of the snap version there are just some warnings of some missing css file, in case of the deb version it does not output anything suspicious. I was even trying to change the UI theme (qt) as well as GTK theme in case it makes any difference, but it did not... Thanks for any help.

Firefox has been my default browser for many years on my debian linux desktop.

I upgraded from version 129.0.2-1 to version 130.0-1 in the normal manner and the new firefox does not connect to remote sites. It does connect to local pages on my PC and, surprisingly, also to www.google.com from where I can access news, for example.

The chrome browser on the same PC has no problems accessing sites, nor does the version 129.0.2 firefox. Only the version 130.0 firefox has a problem.

This happened using my current profile, using --safe-mode and using --no-profile mode on the version 130.0 firefox. I was able to see some packets from a remote site (www.akamai.com) come back on wireshark but the page did not display on the browser. This also happens for sites that appear on the default new tab page, like wikipedia and youtube.

Any ideas on this? thank!!

Recently, I've run into logging in on at least two websites where I have two-factor authentication set up. I'll click the sign in button, and rather than advancing to ask for my authentication code, I get stuck in an endless loading loop and am unable to do anything.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? I have already tried clearing cache and cookies and restarting in safe mode.

This issue only happens to me on desktop. The mobile version of firefox still lets me log in, but I prefer to use desktop.

Firefox for iPhone. I’m having an issue where Amazon’s text input fields cause a password prompt to appear instead of predictive text, Also the page scrolls to the bottom so you can’t see the text field as you type.

Happens in last several versions of Firefox mobile. Happens in safe mode primarily. All stock settings, accept web filters set to strict. Rebooting, nor reinstalling the app, doesn’t fix problem.
