I created a web site which was set up with a password and I have forgotten it. When using the URL it requires authentication the field has dots so password must be stored somewhere in Firefox but where? Peter

Firefox uses the same Password Manager to store all passwords, both for websites and (FTP) servers.

Note that websites remembering you and automatically log you on is stored in a cookie.

It is quite possible that this website displays those dots (bullets) as some default place holder if they appear in the password field.

Does Firefox fill a user name as well?
