The blocklist isn't limited to malware. It also contains old versions of legitimate software that contain security vulnerabilities or cause stability or performance problems.
Malware add-ons are often named based on popular sites or brands, e.g. Youtube Facebook Player. Just because the name looks familiar doesn't mean it's legitimate.

Add-ons hosted on the Firefox Add-ons site that have been reviewed will not harm your computer. These add-ons are marked by a green “Add to Firefox” button.
Add-ons hosted on the Firefox Add-ons site that have been preliminarily reviewed will not harm your computer either, but they may have some irritating flaws.
Add-ons hosted on the Firefox Add-ons site that have many poor reviews may not work correctly, or at all.
