It doesn't work because hotstar uses old technology for DRM(Digital Rights Management). I would suggest using youtube-dl in combination with mpv to directly play videos from hotstar on Linux. Unless hotstar updates to using the current version of DRM, Firefox will not be able to play it on Linux.
