Would it be possible to delete my email account and recreate it again in the same address? I dont' have any important emails in it. I just need the address.

I can't remember or change the password and keep getting a message saying that 'login to server failed'. Or could I just use another email provider and use the address I want to keep? I really have no idea what I'm really doing re email stuff.

Generally we get an email account and that account has an address. There is a subtle difference between an account and an address, but we don't need to go into that here.

Your account is actually operated by someone for you. We call them your "email provider". It is often your ISP, or may be a business, or part of a business that specialises in running email accounts. Well-known examples are Gmail, yahoo, outlook etc.

Your email account belongs to the provider. Unless you have paid money for a domain then they also own your email address. So, in general, you can't move an email address from one provider to another.

Whatever you decide to do, you'll need to contact your provider, to either sort out the account and re-establish its password, or close the account. It is most unlikely that you'll be able to take your email address away to use again.
