Windows 10 Pro Firefox 44

I have done everything: - disable hardware acceleration - reset all settings - disable all add-ons - reinstalling after deleting all the firefox files from the computer - cleaning the cache - updated the gpu driver - updated the flash player

This issue occurs after a while and when I'm exiting it stays some time in background preventing to re-run it again, if I click to "close" from the background in many times it crashes and it sends report. Chrome is working fine, but I don't want to use it.

I know that mentioning similar threads is frowned upon on this forum, but I think it's useful to know that this problem is pretty wide spread. I've only seen it on Vista and 7 PCs so far.

Here's one of my threads (I'm now starting one from each affected machine when I can get FF to work long enough to do so). https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1107092

"Firefox keeps connecting ..."

Do you mean that Firefox doesn't close completely when you go to Exit Firefox? as brundleflyguy alluded to

IOW, the browser window closes so Firefox appears to be closed down, but the firefox.exe process is 'hung' and still keeps running in the background.
