I use a transparent proxy for HTTP content but not HTTPS content for obvious reasons. I would thus like to not cache any HTTP content but only HTTPS content. I've found ways to prevent HTTPS caching but not the otherway around. Is this impossible with Firefox?

It looks like it is both or none: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Network.http.use-cache You may find what you are looking for in the [addons.mozilla.org] search as well.

Sorry for the inconvenience, however there may also be a third party software that does what you are looking for.
