i am not able to delete any email either from inbox or from sent folder.i am using ubuntu 12.04 LTS
i just installed ubuntu 12.04 LTS version in my system. And for email account i installed thunderbird. It's all working well but when i try to delete any email from either inbox or from any folder i am not able to delete from any folder. i used belowe methods to delete messages 1)) right click on email and then selected delete message. 2)) by pressing delete button when we click on any message. None of above method is woking for me.

As this is a new email account and you have not managed to delete anything, try the following.
Close thunderbird.
Profile folder is a hidden folder.
- see info here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird
access the profile folder and delete 'Trash' and Trash.msf
- ~/.thunderbird/[profile_folder]/Mail/mail account name/Trash
- ~/.thunderbird/[profile_folder]/Mail/mail account name/Trash.msf
In your ubuntu it may be here:
- ~/.mozilla-thunderbird[Profile name]/Mail/mail account name.
Restart Thunderbird and retest delete function.
