Firefox crashes

I am getting regular crashes. I have Trusteer Rapport installed and the crash report always shows as the crash reason:

   EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_EXEC
   or
   EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ

and the crashing thread always refers to:

   RapportTanzan27.DLL

Trusteer Rapport is recommended by Nationwide Building Society to ensure you are accessing the valid banking website. I use it to protect other sites too.

Until the last 2 weeks or so there has been no problem but now I get at least 3 or 4 crashes a day always with the above as common factors.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Rapport but no improvement... I am reluctant to run without it as the Nationwide recommend it.

I am not in any way a computer expert! However it seems that Rapport Trusteer is the issue but I do not know about .dll or about access exceptions.

Any advice out there? I have submitted a report to Rapport too.

Make sure that you have the latest updates of your Trusteer software.

You can try to contact Trusteer for support.

Try to update or uninstall and reinstall Trusteer Rapport and if that doesn't help then disable/stop the program for now.

  • Start Menu > Programs > Trusteer Rapport > Stop Rapport

I have re installed etc and no joy. However I am now in a conversation with Rapport tech support and will post an update when resolved (I hope!)
