Upgraded windows 8 to 8.1 FF24 - Lost all bookmarks. HELP!!
Using FF24 for the last several days with windows 8. Today, after "upgrading" to Windows 8.1, I've lost all bookmarks. Interestingly, I also lost all my email in Thunderbird.
I've tried importing the Firefox bookmarks from a windows vista machine with no success. Tries both as an HTML file and as JSON file.
Before re-entering all the bookmarks manually, I'm hoping there is an easy solution.

Did the Windows 8.1 update create a backup folder called C:\Windows.old? If so, your data probably can be found here:
C:\Windows.old\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
