Each time I open a new tab with the +, it goes to Yahoo's page, not the Google page I have set as my home page - any suggestions to correct this (Using 7.0.1)
When I open the tab, using the + button, this page loads:

This occurred when I inadvertently loaded up a program fix, and missed hotting decline

A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank). If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.
You can look at this extension to set which page to open in a new tab:
