Debian linux 6.0 seems to be doing all it can to keep me from loading Firefox. How do I install a tar.bz2 file.

I just started to use Debian and the installed browsers don't include FireFox. I downloaded 4.0 and it is in tar.bz2 format. I extracted all files, and even though I'm very experienced, can't seem to find the loading function.

Debian seems to like Iceweasel and says it is like FireFox but frankly I don't care, my favorite is FireFox.

I need help with getting FF loaded. Thanks.

You need to copy the files in that tar.bz2 archive to a folder on your computer and make a desktop shortcut (create new launcher) to the firefox script to start Firefox.
