Hi there! In one of my two e-mail accounts I manage with Thunderbird via IMAP, the archive options (where I would like to configure that the archived messages go into folders organized by year) are greyed out. See attached screenshot. (In the other account, these options are accessible.) The account in question is a google-based work account; is this related to the inaccessibility of the archiving options? Can this restriction be overcome? Thanks in advance. Tsepati

The following link might be helpful: Thunderbird and Gmail https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-gmail

Please see "Archiving messages" section in the above link.

Quotation from the above link:

In order to be consistent with Gmail's behavior, Thunderbird archives your message in the All Mail folder, and not in an Archive folder as it does for other accounts (as described in the Archived Messages article). The "Archive options…" button is disabled for Gmail accounts, as it is not necessary to define the archive granularity with Gmail.
